A Real Phone Call

Receptionist:  "Thank you for calling The World's Greatest Veterinary Hospital, how may I help you?"

Caller:  "I have a question about my dog eating peanut butter."

Receptionist:  "Okay, how can I help?"

Caller:  "Does it matter if he eats creamy or chunky peanut butter?"

Receptionist:  "Um, unless he has a dietary problem with the peanuts, there shouldn't be a problem."

Caller:  "No, you don't understand.  I KNOW what I am talking about, but I want to know if it's okay if he eats the peanut butter that has the peanuts in it instead of the creamy kind without the peanuts in it."

Receptionist:  "Again, unless your pet has an issue with eating peanuts, there shouldn't be a problem."

Caller (in frustration):  "You're not getting me.  Will the CHUNKY peanut butter hurt my dog where the CREAMY peanut butter will not?"

Receptionist:  "Well, since it's all made from peanuts, I don't see how there could be a difference."

Caller:  "click"   (hangs up on her)

Receptionist bangs head on table.

  1. Maybe the caller was worried about the peanuts scraping the dog's throat or something? Still. *headdesk*

  2. Sure it's not a prank call? Had a guy call once wanting to know about Mad Cow Disease.....after trying to get across to him that we were a small animal clinic (must have spent about 10 minutes on that alone....) he finally goes, "Look! I just need to know what to do in case of Mad Cow Disease, cause I brought the wrong salad dressing home from the store and my wife is mad as hell!" I couldn't help it....I laughed....then I hung up.
