Office help

Apparently this video of a dog helping out at the front desk at a veterinary hospital is stirring up some controversy. Some people think it's gross to have a receipt handed to them by a dog. Personally, I think those people should avoid my hospital. But I'm curious what the general readership thinks! Check it out here.

  1. The complaints are probably coming from cat people. =P

I work at a CAT hospital, and I had to post this video on our facebook page. Again, we're a FELINE SPECIALIST, lolol... I post non-stop cat videos only, and this dog video made the cut.

  7. Too cool! Probably no chance of our clinic cats doing anything helpful like this.

  8. I'm with Officer Cynical as well.. this would make my day to have a dog deliver my receipt! I bet they get alot less complaint about the bills too!

  9. So the people that are complaining...they do realize that they're at a VET's office, most likely because they OWN a PET???

I'm with the rest - if I could have a lab that adorable deliver all my receipts, life would be freaking awesome.

  10. First of all, that is one of the most pretty labs I've seen in a while.

Second of all, if they are in a vet's office and they can't handle some puppy slobber on their receipt, then they don't need to own an animal.

Seriously, even the cat people. Wow.

  11. Oh, please. The germ-o-phobe has no business in any sort of medical office (where the assumption has to be that there will be a disproportionate number of germs around because the people/critter customers are sick).

The dog in the video is adorable. Now if they could just the dogs to deliver the receipt in tandem...

  13. Both adorable and impressive, however...

Not all dogs are friendly with other dogs, and I would be uncomfortable with an off leash dog coming anywehere near myself and my DINOS (dog in need of space) dog, especially in the vet clinic where reactive dogs are already typically on edge and likely to throw a fit. And yes, I could put my pup in the car when i go to get my bill but that still leaves an off leash dog handing receipts to other customers while i am sitting waiting for my appointment. Lastly, I assume clients are expected to have their dogs leashed, so it would be hypocritcal for clinic dogs to have off leash access to client areas. just a few observations from my point of view...

    1. Somehow I don't think that this party trick happens all of the time. Just for the appropriate situations. For one, it would take far too long for it to be a common practice.

  15. Now, if only something that cute could deliver the ESTIMATES and the BILLS. I wonder if our compliance would go up? ;)
